Not At All, NAGR, Not At All

The NRA's lame cousin – NAGR – does this every once in a while. They create a graphic that is so simplistic that it resonates with a large portion of their following – one million strong. It needs to be pointed out for the sycophantic crap it is.

Once again – because they don't seem to be able to comprehend that age-old Sesame Street lyric, “One of these things is not like the other” – someone has to baby-step them through to the proper understanding of the reality of which we are all apart. Hammers were built for hammering. Baseballs were made to hit baseballs and fire-extinguishers were made to help put out fires.

Conversely – hope that word isn't too big for this exercise – guns were made to kill things. Mostly, they were created and perfected to be used to kill people. That's most likely not the reason you own one, and I know that. But laws aren't made for those who would follow them, or pose no threat to the public safety.

Guns, by every measurable statistic, are a threat to the public safety. Therefore, they have to be dealt with. Just like the CDC would work to find a cure for a disease which killed 9 to 12 thousand people a year, we must find a way to curtail the deaths caused by the rampant gun culture we have built for ourselves.

No matter how many different ways you come up with for equating it to something else, it is it's own thing. It's own problem, if you will. That fact will not change, no matter how many times you try to twist it to fit your perceived reality.

Since it is it's own thing – or problem – it needs to be dealt with in a different manner. It's own set of rules, regulations and laws.

I'm out of different ways to explain it. You are on your own, now.

While we can argue whether or not it’s garbage – sir – it is all my own.

I might inquire, however, as to YOUR genus.
