Before Bed, My Daughter and I Always Recite Metallica Lyrics

I get night away, and my mind can only go back to my kids…
I listening to music in my car, and Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” comes up on shuffle. I haven’t heard this song in years. So, I am transported back to the first time I began to bang my head in opposition to the man–whoever that was.
At which point, the bridge comes in with the responsive reading of that child’s prayer, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. I was immediately humbled that God reached down in that moment to show me…something.
Lyrics from the same song I listened to in my rebellious teenage years are now the words of the prayer Ella and I recite together before bed. Maybe it’s not a big thing, but it was today’s “God moment” for me.
